After making a deal with the devil to be freed from his canon's Hell, John awoke in a garage. He expected to be a voice in the mind of Arthur Lester, but instead he has full control of Arthur's body. Desperate to get his friend back, John has sworn to himself that he will keep Arthur's body safe.
He warily greeted Shadow and learned about Husks with Akechi, who witnessed a Husk's impersonation of "John" (Arthur) dying with his throat slit. John used his death-vision power to learn that the Husks were human and died in a flare of light from the sky, but he didn't share this information. Instead, John warned Levi against touching the Husks and avoided the worst of the fighting by sticking near Faith. Because of John's echoing metallic voice, Jayce attacked him with an eldritch blast from the hammer. John got away and has been keeping his distance ever since.
Once things quieted down, he marveled over the broadcast with Murderbot, and was offered friendly company and a snack by Jack before departure.

John, fresh out of his canon's Hell, failed to play it cool as a convincingly mundane human. Levi, Jack, and Blake were puzzled by his enthusiasm over porridge, and Serph got to witness his odd sleeping habits. When John was injured in the ruins of old vehicles, SecUnit came to his rescue with its arm-guns on display; John is now unsure of who is human and who isn't. Faith powered through fear toxin to help him out of a trap, whereas Nagumo was a dick about it.
John spent the rest of the month bickering with characters who fucked with the forest shrines. He also admitted to being from the year 1934.
When the Moon Warp hit, John planned to hide behind the shields— but Jack transformed into a werewolf, and John chose to follow him out into the wilderness. There John became an approximation of his canon monster form and spent a sleepless night keeping the werewolf contained.
Once he slunk home, John tried to claim a large bed for himself, but Serph invited himself in. John quietly admitted he got his scars "from a cult" and was moved by Serph's promise to protect him. Afterwards, Jack came to check on John. They had a gentle conversation about trust, and John now feels an unexpected sense of kinship with this fellow monster.
John and Serph later discovered Jayce's body as Viktor struggled to revive him. It was very spooky.
At the end of the month, he experienced his first hug. John began sharing a bed with both Jack and Serph. They still don't know John's many secrets, but for the first time ever, he's coming to trust people who aren't Arthur Lester.

Early in the month, John was attacked by Blake. She drank his blood, he stole her weapon and shot her point-blank, then they sat together and listened to Evanescence. Now they're friends. Jack got to clean him up in the aftermath.
Later, John discovered notes from canon showing up in-game and tried to steal one from Faith. She kicked his ass in the rain, his Kraken form was revealed, and his harpy wings manifested during this bout of violence. He was similarly caught by Shadow, while V and SecUnit found him snooping around Husk ruins. Jack later caught him trying to pluck his own feathers.
During the storm, he met Jolie, Vash, and Echo on the TDM.
Late in the month, John was caught in Kraken form by Levi, who finally recognized him as an incarnation of his own canon's Yellow King. John tried to kill Levi to silence him, but SecUnit interrupted. Apollo got to witness John's lies in the aftermath and Serph tended to his injuries.

Still licking his wounds and trying to keep a low profile after March, John stuck close to the Convoy and fastidiously avoided monster changes. When Moon Warp hit, he and Serph stood guard over Jack... until Serph killed and devoured a humanoid monster in front of John. He succumbed to his monstrous instincts and tried to drown Serph, then snapped out of it to mermaid-kiss him back to life.
